Release: Callis Raises Over $466,000 in Campaign for Congress
EDWARDSVILLE, IL – This morning former Judge Ann Callis announced she has raised over $466,000 in her campaign for U.S. Congress from Illinois' 13th District. The campaign will report over $370,000 cash on hand. Callis had her most successful fundraising quarter to date, raising over $240,000 from more than 1,700 people.
“People are really just fed up with what's going on in Washington. They don't understand why Congress isn't doing the job they were sent to do,” said Callis. "Congressman Davis has spent the last 15 years in Washington and he's stopped listening to the people of Illinois. I'm encouraged by the response I'm getting to my campaign. People are looking for someone with a record of putting results ahead of political games. That's what I've done in Madison County.”
Callis’ campaign continues to be built on grassroots support—for the second quarter in a row, over 70% of her support has come in donations of $50 or less.
“We are excited about the growing support for Judge Callis’ campaign and are confident we will have the resources to compete in this race,” said Marshall Cohen, campaign manager for Judge Callis. “It is clear that voters in the 13th District are not happy with Congressman Davis’ reckless record in Congress and want a candidate like Judge Callis who can take her real-world experience and bring a new approach to a broken Washington.”
A complete copy of the report will be available from the FEC once the Republican Congress ends the government shutdown.
